World Cancer Day is observed on 4th February every year. Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) organises it. UICC was founded in 1933 and is based in Geneva, Switzerland. World Cancer Day - 2021, a global initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). As per the WHO (World Health Organisation), one out six deaths happen due to cancer, making this disease the second leading cause of death globally. World Cancer Day was originated at the first World Summit Against Cancer in 2000. It was held in Paris and was founded by the Union for International Cancer Control.
